Ten Lake Havasu City Special Olympians did their city proud, and brought home gold medals from the River Area Special Olympics Bowling Tournament at Riverside Lanes in Laughlin, NV, this past Saturday, according to our very own Don Bergen.

Chris Orey led the 21 Havasu Special Olympians to smoke the competition with 287. Samantha Ross was right behind him with 229, and Angel Swentik bowled 227.

Other Special Olympians that received gold medals were; Matt Fleishman, Josh Schwartz, Dempsey Nail, Mike Zapatocky, Tony Orellano, Clinton Gode and Claudia Kirmil. They competed against Bullhead City and Kingman Special Olympians.

These amazing athletes practice throughout the year at Havasu Lanes, representing their oath of “Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave at the attempt.”
