London Bridge History
The London Bridge here in Lake Havasu City has some amazing history behind it. It was first spanned over the River Thames in London, England in 1831 until it was dismantled in 1967. The Bridge here today is a reinforced concrete structure made from the original masonry of the 1830’s bridge. Robert P. McCulloch purchased it from the City of London. All of the exterior blocks from the original bridge were numbered and shipped to America to construct the bridge we see today. It was completed in 1971 along with the canal that links the island in the Colorado River to the Main portion of the city.
